Hi, I'm Teddy.​

I am 13 years old and I love to paint.

 

When I sit down to paint, I feel excited and ready to create. I like taking my time to contemplate what to paint next. 

 

As you can see, I have painted a lot of still lifes and animals. I really enjoyed painting all of them, but my favorite piece to work on was my study of Manet’s painting Rochefort’s Escape. I loved painting the water. Water is very cool looking, especially with paint. I used big brushes with a lot of different blues. I liked painting the whitecaps most of all. First, I made the shapes of the waves with my blue paints, and then I lightly placed white paint on the peak of the waves. You can make water look realistic without being insanely good at art. I want to make more paintings with water in them.

 

I also like studying paintings by other artists and trying to understand how they made them. It’s fun to learn new things that I can try in my own work, and if I like them - I can make them a part of my own personal style.

 

I want people to think, “What was he thinking when he made that painting? It’s interesting.”
